Christine Wyrtzen’s songs inspire and uplift me, and especially while I walked through a dark valley for 17 years. This song on her “For Those who Hurt” CD, brought tears to my eyes every time I listened to it...it still does. It reminds me of God’s unfailing love and grace that has sustained me over the years. I hope you find encouragement and comfort from these songs that have inspired me to keep trusting God no matter my circumstances!

Carry Me

 My family has come with words to console

And friends have been calling on the telephone

In spite of the well-meaning words they’ve all given

I can’t help but feel that I’m standing alone.

Lord, I do have some feelings I want to confide

I feel so alone though my friends offer smiles.

It’s only Your love that can carry the hurt

May I ask You to hold me for a few painful miles.

Chorus

Carry me, carry me

Won’t you carry me now

I’m too weak and fragile to walk on my own

I’ll rest in your love ‘till once more I can stand

To journey beside You and follow You home.

I’ve heard you, my child

And I’ll carry you now

For you’re too weak and fragile to walk on your own

Come, rest in My love ‘till once more you can stand

To journey beside Me and follow Me home.

Part the Waters

Knowing you'll love me through the burdens I must bear,
Hearing your footsteps lets me know I'm in your care,
And in the night of my life, you bring the promise of day.
Here is my hand. Show me the way.

When I think I'm goin' under, part the waters, Lord,
When I feel the waves around me, calm the sea,
When I cry for help, oh, hear me, Lord, and hold out your hand,
Touch my life, Still the raging storm in me,

Knowing you'll love me helps me face another day.
Hearing your footsteps drives the clouds and fears away.
And in the tears of my life, I see the sorrow you bore,
Here is my pain. Heal it once more.

Hold On

If you feel today that you can’t make it

Keep holdin' on, cause you can take it

If you hold on a little while longer

Hold on a little while longer

Hold on a little while longer

Hold on

If you feel it's raining in your life

and day by day, there's nothin'

Nothin' going right

Just hold on a little while longer

Hold on a little while longer

Hold on a little while longer

Hold on

 You gotta hold to His hand

God’s unchanging hand

You gotta hold to His hand

God’s unchanging hand

You gotta build your hopes on things eternal;

My God will never let you down

Weeping may endure for the night

But if you trust in Jesus

Everything’s gonna be alright

Just hold on a little while longer

Hold on a little while longer

Hold on a little while longer

Hold on

 Press On

When the valley is deep

When the mountain is steep

When the body is weary

 When we stumble and fall

When the choices are hard

When we’re battered and scarred

When we’ve spent our resources

When we’ve given our all

In Jesus’ name, we press on

In Jesus’ name, we press on

Dear Lord, with the prize

Clear before our eyes

We find the strength to press on

To press on...

Trust and Obey

When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word,
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will, He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.

(Refrain) Trust and obey, for there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey.

Not a shadow can rise, not a cloud in the skies,
But His smile quickly drives it away;
Not a doubt or a fear, not a sigh or a tear,
Can abide while we trust and obey.

Refrain

Not a burden we bear, not a sorrow we share,
But our toil He doth richly repay;
Not a grief or a loss, not a frown or a cross,
But is blessed if we trust and obey.

Refrain

But we never can prove the delights of His love
Until all on the altar we lay;
For the favor He shows, for the joy He bestows,
Are for them who will trust and obey.

Refrain

Then in fellowship sweet we will sit at His feet.
Or we’ll walk by His side in the way.
What He says we will do, where He sends we will go;
Never fear, only trust and obey.

Refrain

Great is Thy faithfulness

Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father;
There is no shadow of turning with Thee;
Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not;
As Thou hast been, Thou forever will be.

(Refrain) Great is Thy faithfulness!
Great is Thy faithfulness!
Morning by morning new mercies I see.
All I have needed Thy hand hath provided;
Great is Thy faithfulness, Lord, unto me!

Summer and winter and springtime and harvest,
Sun, moon and stars in their courses above
Join with all nature in manifold witness
To Thy great faithfulness, mercy and love.

Refrain

Pardon for sin and a peace that endureth
Thine own dear presence to cheer and to guide;
Strength for today and bright hope for tomorrow,
Blessings all mine, with ten thousand beside!

Because

Because He emptied Himself of all but love,
 . . .  you can be filled.

Because His body was broken,
 . . .  your life can be whole.

Because His blood was shed,
 . . .  your sins can be forgiven.

Because He submitted to injustice,
 . . .  you can forgive.

Because He finished His Father's work,
 . . .  your life has worth.

Because He was forsaken,
 . . .  you will never be alone.

Because He was buried,
 . . .  you can be raised.

Because He lives,
 . . .  you don't have to be afraid.

Because He was raised,
 . . .  you can be strong.

Because He reached down to you,
 . . .  you don't have to work your way up to Him.

Because His promises are always true,
 . . .  you can have Hope!
